Trader Joe's finally opened!
A crowd of folks gathered in lines across Trader Joe’s this weekend to buy foods that they’ve either heard about from city folk or craved for years if they ever experienced the TJ ecstasy of cities past.  We made friends all over the place as we grabbed for cheese, fancy curries, and raw, organic trail mix.  There were more people than baskets and carts, but the mood was light and...

Harvest Restaurant.
My aunt died a couple of weeks ago.  It shook me up.  Not only do I miss her constantly, but I’ve been trying to wisen up as far as what I put in my body, healthy vs. unhealthy, where it comes from, etc.  I think she’d be proud of me because I care more now than ever before. In my eyes, this is where local farming comes in.  And organic food.  It’s not always the most affordable...

Gregory Michaels Salon
My hair.  It’s gone through some pretty rough looking reincarnations (especially after my favorite hairdresser/dear friend Lauren Yoho moved to DC), but lately, I can’t complain - in fact, I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on my hair!  For the past year I’ve been going to Gregory Michaels Salon in the Highlands where I get my mane cared for by a hip, fancy lady by the...

Greenhaus Art Show Friday, Oct. 21, 4-8 pm
My husband has been making art for a month JUST for the show below: Greenhaus is a lovely store with vintage furniture, chocolate, wine, and succulents, and owner Daniel Duncan is a huge supporter of local art.  I plan on going there tomorrow afternoon with Bernhardt to help him sell his CREEPS (see below). These CREEPS run $75 a pop.  They are 2’ tall (roughly - between 22 & 24...

The Paper - Big Kid Toys.
Read the new issue of The Paper!  My new article, Big Kid Toys, is online now (click the amazing picture taken by the beautiful and talented Lindsey Dobson to get to the article).  Also, The Paper is spreading - it’s everywhere I’ve been this week!  I’ve been to the art store on Barrett and Kentucky, WHY Louisville, UltraPop, Greenhaus, even to Tony Boombozz!  Go get thee to...

The NABC Fringe Fest, Harvest Homecoming, and a...
I’m excited because Louisville and Fall are happening…  Meaning that the Fall calendar is rolling.  St. James snuck up on me, and Bern and I spent the weekend walking around with the art fair with hot toddies in our portable coffee mugs: munching on roasted corn: and ducking in Mag Bar for whiskeys (note Nord’s Irish coffee and my indoor husks), games of pool, and then out...
