Louisville Water Company Reservoir.
Lately I’ve been obsessed with cheesecake and learning to run. I’m hoping these two things eventually even me out to one big neutral…so for the time being, I’ve been making and eating cheesecake at home, and in the world I’ve been finding new places to train for the mini.
This morning, I met my new running buddy Johanna. She’s lived in Louisville her whole...

Robben's Roost Roller Rink.
I took my childish whimsy on a play date this weekend with my lovely friend Laura. We went…to Robben’s Roost Rollerskating Rink!
Located at 5906 Six Mile Lane, you can skate on Sunday’s from 1:30 - 4:00 PM for a mere $4! This price has skates INCLUDED! Right?!
It was a purple and mauve kind of day at the Robbins Roost. I wore purple because I always used to skate in...

Happiness Bastard.
Don’t be jealous, but my husband (aka Happiness Bastard) makes amazing toys. His new Shedorah has just been placed on the shelf at Paul LePree’s Ultra-Pop!
(photos courtesy of KFHC - check out his website!)
What you see before you is a Shedorah, a spin off of the Smog Monster Hedorah with a pin-up girl’s figure. I am SO proud of Bernhardt, and we are incredibly thankful...
opticalfixation asked: Hey. Just wanted to say hello, and see how you were doing? Did you ever make it to any of those restaurants? Talk to you soon!!
twelfthly asked: Hey, great blog. I just wanted to invite you to the Germantown-Schnitzelburg Pub Club. We meet once a month at a different bar in the Germantown area and this month we are going to try Hammerhead's. We are meeting there this Friday, January 14th, at 7:30. Bring friends! Here is a link to the club's Facebook page:

Danny Mac's Pizza
Yesterday was a bad day. Bern got a flat tire, and I had a 12 hour day at school. When I picked Bernhardt up from work and he said was “I’m going to buy us a pizza - no cooking for us tonight,” I felt a WHOLE lot better. Because we had been talking with friend Paul about his favorite place to order, Danny Mac’s, we thought we’d give it a try.
(below - the entrance...

My mini-marathon to El Mundo.
Hold on to your hats, ladies - - - I am officially training to run the Derby Festival’s Mini-Marathon. Since I’m running for the combined Ret Hot Roasters/Cellar Door team, I felt it appropriate to go to the first meeting for the Derby Festival’s Jewish Sports Medicine Healthy Lifestyle Training Program with my homegirl Sondra. We went 6 p.m. last Thursday, Jan. 6, at Bellarmine...

Laura Fauna.
When I first me Laura Patterson who makes all things Laura Fauna, my husband and I were dressed as furries (because of THIS MAN). She didn’t know it was me (and I didn’t know her at the time), but if you look through my frog mouth, I look like a real creep with my posing for pictures smile.
When I worked the Why Louisville booth at the St. Agnes Craft Fair, we met for real. I was...

KY Expo Flea Market
Today, January 2, is the last day to check out the Kentucky Flea Market with 1200 booths instead of the usual 700. It’s located in the West Wing Pavillion (see below).
Note to self - if you park over there, go behind the sad old abandoned Six Flags area. There’s all KINDS of parking there…just a drive beyond the normal lot…and it’s even closer to the West Wing...
